Fotos de Salamanca

I find Salamanca an interesting place to be. It is rich with the Spanish culture with wonderful sights to feed your eyes, your mind and your being.

Salamanca is a city in western Spain, the capital of the province of Salamanca, which belongs to the autonomous community of Castile and Leon (Castilla y León). It lies about 200km west of Madrid and 100km east of the Portuguese border.

Salamanca is known both for its monumental sights and the University of Salamanca, which was founded in 1218 and is the oldest university in Spain and the fifth oldest western university. With its 30,000 students, the university is, together with tourism, the economic engine of the city. Salamanca is also known for the teaching of Spanish language, in this field, Salamanca houses 16% of the offer available in Spain and is known to attract thousands of foreign students.

Fatima Travel, Holding On to Portugal

I had the wonderful chance of visiting the homes of the seers at Aljustrel, Portugal. They have preserved the place.

The three seers were Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia. They were shepherds. Sorry, but the sheep behind weren't captured on the photo. Statues of them were constructed in a plaza circle, kinda cute.

This is supposed to be the place of the visit of the “Angel of Peace” who gave the children words of wisdom and instructions before the apparitions of Our Lady of Immaculate Concepcion.

A Moment of Thanksgiving

I cast all my cares upon you, O Lord, for you care for me. I am making an effort not to be miserable but instead be happy in the midst of miserable circumstances. Thus I keep a smile on my face, even if just for a second.

Got some things bothering me deeply. Kinda have this throb in my head like forever. I do not want to slide into hopelessness. However, I do not know the way out of these specific things that are causing me miseries. His light shall shine upon me and my troubles.

Again, recalling happy thoughts, happy memories to keep me going, my trip to Europe.

I remain grateful for all the graces and blessings He gives generously. May wisdom stay to keep me company in my decisions.

All praises and glory to our Lord. Thank you.

A Year Full of Hope

Yup, I am filled with hope for a truly wonderful and bright year this 2010.

I am looking forward to another trip being planned with travel friends to nourish the soul, to enrich one's life, hopefully bringing more meaning not only to self but to others.

Submit all your plans to the Lord to carry them out successfully. Proverbs 16:3

I am so grateful to the Lord for 2009. Though the year ended, still with lots of challenges and not headache-free as expected, I am ever so thankful. Trials will always be there but I know I am not alone.

I can do anything with Him who strengthens me.

Build a house not of straw. Be like the wise man who built his house upon a rock. A useful saying.

An Exciting Year Ahead

Year 2010 offers a rich future ahead. I would like to view the new year to be as wide, beautiful and promising as the French Riviera when I viewed it in my travel.

Before we can do anything to make a cool year ahead, set a positive mindset and go through a solid goal-setting session. If your goals are clear, it will program your mind to think of ways and means to reach your meaningful goals, thus attracting and creating opportunities.

It's good to just plan for more exciting activities for this year. Need not be grand gatherings. Simple activities which you find of value, for one's personal upgrade or for the good of our fellowmen, will be just great.

Let's all claim it will be a great 2010. Choose to be happy in the midst of about anything. Keep on praying though.

Believe that you’ll have a super blessed year! This is the advise of Bo Sanchez, a motivational speaker and a preacher in blue jeans.
